CONFIRMED: David Leavitt Involved in Possible Human Trafficking Case
Four Venezuelans and the Leavitt Cabin
This weekend, Investigations in Ritual Abuse filed a GRAMA Request with the Juab County Sheriffs Office for any reports or files related to an October 2022 Juab Search and Rescue Response to a cabin owned by David and Chelom Leavitt through a real estate investment company. Today, we obtained that report.
The report details a response to the location in question on October 23, 2022. Four individuals, a man, a woman, and two children, were the subjects of the response. They were Venezuelan nationals who spoke no English. Search and Rescue escorted the individuals out of Mona Pole Canyon, and allowed David Leavitt to take custody of the four individuals.
It is unclear why David Leavitt would take in four Venezuelan nationals, put them in a remote cabin in Mona Pole Canyon, leave them there during a snowstorm, and it is even more unclear why Leavitt was allowed to take custody of the adults and children afterwards. The report lists an apartment building in Orem, Utah as the address for the adult male complainant. If the adult male complainant had an apartment in Orem, why were he and three other individuals stranded at David Leavitt’s cabin in Mona, Utah? The report states that it is a protected recorded under Utah Code of Criminal Procedure 77-37-4(5) and (6), and IRA has opted not to release it at this point. This is of interest because the statute in question pertains to the rights of child victims and witnesses. If the children were victims of or witnesses to a crime, why was David Leavitt allowed to take custody of them after arriving on scene?
Investigations in Ritual Abuse will continue to pursue answers related to this matter, and the Incident Report is 22JC1189 for any journalist willing to look into this.
