Patterns are everything in human groups, and those patterns can tell us a great deal about human associations, especially among groups suspected of engagement in or affiliation with criminal activity. The Roneys purchased a great deal of property in the early Nineties as Nu Skin began to gather momentum, but they held many of their properties for short durations, too short to be looked at as a real estate investment. The properties were not dilapidated or run down, and would not have qualified as mere fixer uppers or flips.
The same individuals show up in patterns in transactions associated with these properties, and the properties are in neighborhoods alleged to be CS hotspots by the Hamblin children. However, a plausible alternative explanation to the Roneys being members of the CS is found in the allegations made by two of Sandie Tillotson’s husbands: that she had large quantities of cash she transported to the Cayman Islands via private jet, ostensibly to avoid paying taxes; with both ex-husbands alleging that Tillotson was involved in drug trafficking to and from Asia, where Nu Skin did business.
If one had large quantities of cash from an illicit business, and one were looking for ways to wash that cash, quick real estate transactions would enable cash from those businesses to be washed and entered into the legitimate banking system. If the Roneys were involved in Tillotson’s alleged trafficking operation, they could have been utilizing real estate transactions to wash the proceeds. Additionally, if the Roneys were CS, they would have had access to their own hangars and airplanes to engage in human trafficking. They would also have cash from that business to wash as well.
Such an operation would have required consistent accomplices to pull off, and the presence of the same individuals in the same timeframes and sequential orders among the Roney’s real estate transactions points to something other than a routine real estate transaction. A legitimate real estate investment operation would have structured transactions differently to minimize tax liabilities, but if one suddenly had a large influx of cash from operations in a nascent Asian drug or human trafficking operation, there would be limited time to adjust in the initial stages.
Enter Dave McMullin, or as he entered his name on the various property transactions involving the Roneys, Mc Mullin. The properties below demonstrate the patterns that Mc Mullin was involved in with respect to Roney family property purchases and sales. The owners of record are hyperlinked to the Utah County property records, so that readers can click on the hyperlinks and verify the facts set forth in this article.
For the CS neighborhoods the Roneys purchased property in, the individuals were arguably already awash in corruption. A family like the Roneys, newly wealthy and loaded with liquidity, would have afforded the CS a group of prospective members whose wealth could finance CS activities. The Hamblin Victims Statements explicitly detail the CS’s efforts to recruit wealthy prospects for this exact reason. With a pipeline to Asia in Nu Skin’s emerging markets in China, Japan, Hong Kong, and elsewhere, the Roneys and Tillotson would have had access to drugs and human trafficking sources.
With their connections to politicians like Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney, the Roney family would have the access and means to leverage their relationships to enable both legitimate and illegitimate businesses. As yet, the allegations against Sandie Tillotson are just that: allegations by two disgruntled ex-husbands, both of whom accused Tillotson of involvement in drug trafficking and tax fraud and evasion, as well as fraud on the distributors and customers of Nu Skin. Tillotson’s third husband, Adam Baker, alleged that he found a kilogram of heroin at the bottom of a gift bag Tillotson instructed him to drop off with her friend.
Nu Skin would have enabled the Roneys to wash some of the money through the company, but drug operations generate vast sums of cash well in excess of what Nu Skin could legitimately account for in its revenues. As a result, Nu Skin’s principals would have required alternative means of washing their ill-gotten gains, and coordinated real estate transactions with the same actors would have enabled the Roneys and Tillotson, as well as Tillotson’s ex-in laws, to do just that: wash their illicit gains. As yet, nothing has been proven, but the explanation provides a plausible basis for the patterns demonstrated in this article and the previous article in this series.

I watched the doc over the weekend and read that whole Twitter thread.
It connects Ukraine to everything happening around the world regarding human trafficking, organ harvesting, and slavery.
This was a great series and a powerful deep dive on the potential money laundering side of the story.
Black Lives Matter has also used home sales for laundering and payoffs, and James O'Keeff outed act blue today:
